Good home cookin' y'all. Vegetable soup to home made chicken salad on toasted potato bread. Hot dogs out of this world and hamburgers that will keep calling your name! Tookie's is family owned since 1983!
Located adjacent to the CruiserZ gas station. Be sure to try the pound cake too! Your belly will thank you!
I cannot adequately describe Tookie's but just know you'll think you've just left your momma's kitchen!

Wow! That's all I can say. Tookies has far and away the best chicken salad I've ever had and it's not even close. If chicken salad is not your thing, their pimento cheese is too notch. 100% a must visit spot in north Raleigh!

Way overpriced in my opinion. Ordered only a pimento cheese sandwich and it was over $8. It was good, but for what I got not worth $8 for the small amount of pimento cheese in the sandwich.

I am writing this after just one visit to Tookie's but I had a great experience and just had to share it.

I have heard people talk about Tookie's before and have passed it many times. It is attached to a Cruizer's but it does not appear to be affiliated with them except sharing some space.

I met Tookie, I don't know what some other people are talking about when they said the owners were rude, but Tookie was nothing but nice to me. We talked about his menu, and it being an overcast day I just wanted some soup. He suggested the Navy Bean with a little onion and hot sauce and a couple of minutes later I was walking out the door with my order in my hand.

I got back to my office and had my soup. It warmed me up and filled me up as well. This was not a soup of broth with some beans in there, this was bean and beans and some ham for flavor held together with some broth.

I am a big eater and one cup of this soup filled me up.

Will I go back to Tookie's? Yes I work within walking distance and have a feeling I will eat there more then I really need to.

Does chicken salad get any better????! Only if I had a pound in the fridge right now! You can not beat a chicken salad sandwich from tookies, that is unless you add a little jalapeño pimento cheese on too!
